Portraits Series: Commissioned by the Utica Comets' owner and former NHL goaltender (Phoenix Coyote and Philadelphia Flyer) Rob Esche for the Utica Memorial Auditorium's renovations. The portrait commemorates the architect, Gil Seltzer.
Gil was 102 at the time the portrait was painted and still driving to work in New Jersey. A pioneering architect, he helped design Madison Square Garden, the Utica AUD and many more over his long career.
The painting uses over 2000 individual blocks of varying heights to create a unique, three dimensional topagrapgical portrait. It took three months to complete and weighs over 150 pounds and currently hangs in the arena's Executive Zuhaus Suites in Utica, NY
