Life Is Sweet Series: The first painting that inspired the series, this piece was painted as a reaction to the sense of loss during the pandemic. I wanted to create something that could symbolize unity, joy and optimism while at the same time paint something that created a sense of grittiness and desperation. Voila, the Humble Honey Bee - a creature that makes honey yet can sting if threatened.

Also inspired by my grandfather, who raised bees and always enjoyed a healthy spoonful of honey in his morning tea.

The original painting was raffled off, with partial proceeds going towards local food shelters. It was won by Matthew Charlton of Boston, MA.
