Bison have been one of my favorite animals ever since my parents packed my sister and I into our bright red minivan in the summer of '98. We bombed down the open road, stopping at seemingly every interesting place along the way from Mammoth Caves to Crater Lake. We saw the herds of bison in the Badlands and tried a bison burger in Boise. 

I've loved bison and roadtrips ever since.
